Variétés – Spiegel van de dolle jaren (Cahier 5)

Cahier 5. This issue was released with an exhibition about the Brussels magazine: ‘Variétés’ (1928-1930). This magazine displays an accumulation of artistic disciplines in an early modernist era: art, literature, music and theatre, photography, tribal art, film and fashion. On the cover of this cahier a postcard, once used to promote the magazine, is depicted. The cahiers are created to accompany smaller, monographic exhibitions at the Museum voor Schone Kunsten, Ghent. The design makes it possible to treat the content (text and images) of each issue the same way. The cahiers end with an English translation.
